On 5 March 2020, I was diagnosed with high grade breast cancer. It was devastating to hear this news.. even more devastating to think that I might not get to see my beautiful, then six year old, daughter grow up. Following some pretty awful treatment, and dealing with the mental and physical impact of that treatment, I am now in remission.

Kathryn

Watching loved ones be impacted and losing their life to cancer has a profound impact on one’s compassion and determination to support cancer research to eradicate this awful disease. During my lifetime, I witnessed my Dad’s struggles with bowe cancer and his treatment, and then losing his life to this disease. I also watched my mum suffer through the devastating effects of nasal pharyngeal carcinoma.

We are both critically aware how cancer touches each and every one of us on a daily basis. We are so passionate about cancer research.. research that improves those diagnostic tools for early intervention, or improved treatment, or even to make this world cancer free.

We are really pleased to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2022 Spring!! This year, all the teams are driving their shitboxes from Mackay to Darwin.

Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 13th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount as you can see with the 2022 Spring rally target set at $2,500,000 plus.

These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below.
